LUIS CRUZ PIETRI
About Me!
Luis Cruz Pietri (he/they) is a performer based in New York, born and raised in Puerto Rico. He found the performing arts at a very young age and has been performing since. Starting when Luis did a small play at his kindergarten graduation; throughout elementary school, he participated in every talent show, and in middle school, he found dance. Luis started as a Dancer in his artistic career. He was introduced to Musical Theatre in his junior year of high school, where he was part of Billy Elliot. After high school, he studied Drama at the University of Puerto Rico and trained in dance at Pasos Academia de Baile. In his time at Pasos, Luis had the opportunity to perform in Grease and Chicago. Afterwards, he trained in dance and musical theatre at School for the Performing Arts, where he performed in multiple showcases and recitals, and played Old Man Jenkins (SpongeBob SquarePants) and Kevin G (Mean Girls). Besides being on stage, Luis has developed a passion for Lighting and Set design, where he creates his own set models and adds his own lighting design to them, creating realistic-looking shows on a smaller scale. Luis is currently pursuing his bachelor’s in fine arts in Musical Theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York, where he has studied multiple roles such as Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors), Aarpad (She Loves Me), Tulsa (Gypsy), Snoopy (You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown), Candide (Candide), Aladdin, (Aladdin), Donkey (Shrek), Tobias (Sweeney Todd) and Pippin (Pippin).
